Alexander Legkovs medals are clean. CAS raises life-long barrier of gold medaillengewinners in 50 km of cross-country skiing from Sochi 2014. A total of 28 Russian athletes have succeeded.
Alexander Legkov is one of the 39 athletes who sued the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne for the life-long ban imposed on them by the Oswald Commission because of the events in Sochi 2014. In the center are the statements of the Russian “whistle” Dr Rodchenkov and the McLaren report.
WIESCHEMANN | Lawyers have been Alexander Legkov since the 22.12.2106 in proceedings before the FIS Anti Doping panel, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the disciplinary committee of the IOC and in turn before the CAs in one of the longest and largest procedure in the history of the CAs Represented. We are happy that together with the bells of the mountain lawyers, who have represented the other athletes, we can in the end prove the innocence of the athlete, to whom we believed from the beginning.
Even after the adoption of the operative part of the decision, the principle of confidentiality of the proceedings still applies. Everyone involved is respected. What will be the subject of the judgment, and thus also public, from the content of the proceedings, must be decided by the Panel in its statement of reasons, which we shall await.
We have repeatedly made clear our position both to the person of Dr. Rodchenkov, to demonstrating the IOC and also to the report of Prof. McLaren in the past. You can find the information on our homepage www.wieschemann.EU. The taking of evidence in the hearing from 22.1 to 27.1.2018 has confirmed our criticism. Sufficient evidence indicating the participation of the athletes themselves are and were not available.
Those responsible for the IOC have long since been able to refute these findings, which have tangibly disproved important parts of the information provided by Dr Rodchenkov, and are further evidence that the athletes could have exempted from suspicion, despite our request, not Followed. This also applies to Prof. McLaren, who has only been looking for insights that support Dr Rodchenkov’s information, but not those that could refute it. Important information from Dr Rodchenkov, however, is actually refuted.
With regard to the other athletes and the pending proceedings in connection with the participation in the Olympic Games 2018, we will not make any further statements.

Alexander Legkov is one of the 39 athletes who appealed in Lausanne against the life – long ban imposed on them by the Oswald Commission in connection with what happened in Sochi in 2014. The focus is on the statements of the Russian “whistleblower” Dr Rodchenkov and the McLaren report.
Wieschemann | Lawyers represented Alexander Legkov since 22.12.2106 in proceedings before the FIS Anti Doping panel, the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the Disciplinary commission of the IOC Oswald Commission, and lastly before the CAs in one of the longest and largest proceedings in the History of the CAs. We are happy that together with Belly Mountain lawyers, representing the other athletes, we can prove the innocence of the athlete we believed in from the beginning.
Although the operative part of the decision is issued, the principle of confidentiality of the procedure still applies. I assume that all parties involved will respect this. The Panel has to decide in its judgment what details of the proceedings become subject of the reasoning of the decision and therefore will become public. We will wait for the reasoned decisions.
However, our position to the person of Dr. Rodchenkov, on the evidence of the IOC and also on the report of Prof. McLaren, we have repeatedly made clear in the past. You will find the information on our homepage www.wieschemann.EU. The examination of evidence confirmed it. Sufficient evidence to prove individual involvement of the athlete is not available and was never available.
Those who responsible for the IOC have never respected findings which are long standing in their possession that tangibly refute important parts of Dr Rodchenkov’s information, and they have not pursued further evidence that could have rid the athletes of their suspicionss – despite Our request. This also applies to Prof. McLaren, who has sought only findings that corroborate the information provided by Dr Rodchenkov, but not those that could refute them. However, essential information provided by Dr Rodchenkov is indeed refuted.
With regard to the other athletes and the pending procedures in connection with the participation in the Olympic Games 2018, we will give no further detailed explanation.
